MAHLE hydraulic filters: For virtually every application

The machine and equipment manufacturing sector is one of the most important branches of industry worldwide.
MAHLE Industrial Filtration has been an important partner in this sector for decades, and since the establishment of its plant in Öhringen (1962), it has continually raised the bar with respect to hydraulic liquid filtration. This includes the installation of the first German Multi-Pass test stand according to ISO 4572 in 1973, co-development of the standardisation and consistent implementation of hydraulic filters according to DIN 24550 since the 1980's, and on-site particle measurement technology beginning in 1993.

Hydraulic FiltersTo guarantee a hydraulic system's reliability, it is important that sufficient attention be paid to the conditioning of the hydraulic liquid. Tests show that more than 75% of failures in hydraulic systems are due to inadequate conditioning of the hydraulic liquid. Hence the importance of choosing the right hydraulic filters, hydraulic filter concept and maintenance scheme. And IPAR is the right MAHLE Industrial Filtration partner for all three.

MAHLE offers you a complete line of filters in the hydraulic filter segment: suction filters, pressure filters, return filters, switchable filters, bypass filters and aeration filters that have proven themselves in the most diverse types of equipment worldwide. In hydraulic filter systems, the right hydraulic filter concept makes possible very good management of contaminants. This requires hydraulic filter manufacturers to continuously adapt to technical advancements in hydraulic systems.

MAHLE Particle Counter PIC 9100The importance of accurate measurement
As was stated above, in addition to a well-thought out hydraulic filter concept, a proper maintenance scheme is of major importance. This can be done among others by analysing oil samples. These samples are checked in the MAHLE Industrial Filtration laboratory for, among others, acidity, water content and the presence of metals. Recent developments, however, allow measurement systems (among others the MAHLE particle counter PIC 9100, see attached photo) to be attached to an operating installation and determine the condition and the purity level of the medium on site.

DIN standard for hydraulic filters
And finally, we wish to draw your attention to an important standard for hydraulic filters (as well as for other filters): DIN 24550. This standard sets minimum requirements for hydraulic filters such as connection sizes, nominal flow, pressure drop over the hydraulic filter, filter fineness and separation level. MAHLE Industrial Filtration has actively contributed to the development of this standard and offers a complete line of hydraulic filters that meet this DIN standard.

To conclude, we can state that MAHLE Industrial Filtration is one of the leading manufacturers of hydraulic filters and is a global partner to the machinery and equipment manufacturing sector.
